Your home for Jewish learning and exploration in Australia.

Beit Midrash Oz is an open and inclusive house of Jewish learning based in Melbourne, Australia.

We welcome all learners, regardless of background, experience or worldview, and we celebrate intellectual openness and curiosity.

Our mission is to empower participants to access and own Jewish thought in all of its wonderful diversity by providing access to resources, teachers and a welcoming environment.

We believe the greater the diversity of voices in the room, the richer our conversations and deeper our learning.

Show up as your whole self, bring an open mind and an open heart, and together we will dive into the rich and vast world of Jewish thought and literature.

Acknowledgement

We acknowledge and respect the First Peoples of the land upon which we learn and play.  This country has offered a safe haven for our families and communities to build our homes and institutions.  But we acknowledge the pain and damage European settlement has caused to this land and culture.

Our hope is that our work, in a small way, can contribute towards the repair and integration this land and our nation needs to truly honour the first people’s, country and of course, their stories.
