Service Description
Jonathan Shaw, a professor of diabetes by day, has a keen interest in the history of Jewish texts. Using a set of unique haggadot that he has created from the treasures of the world’s libraries, he will explore the art, the text and the social commentary of haggadot over the last millennium. From the dusty, 1,000-year-old manuscripts of the Cairo Genizah to the high art of Europe, the haggadah has been a vehicle for Jewish expression over many centuries.
